Plans for consolidation of New York archdiocese advance

The Archdiocese of New York is entering the final phase of planning for a reorganization that will entail the closing of dozens of parishes.
An advisory board that has been planning for the consolidation has sent its preliminary recommendations out for review by local parish groups. The final plan for reorganization of the archdiocese is due to be submitted to Cardinal Timothy Dolan in June.
