Fire destroys Milwaukee seminary’s historic buildings

Fire has destroyed the original chapel and hall that dates from 1873 at St. Lawrence High School Seminary, one of the United States’ few high school seminaries, according to local and national media reports.
The seminary, which is located in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, is operated by the Capuchin Franciscan friars and has 178 students. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
