Bomb explodes at church in Zanzibar

After a lull in attacks on Christians in Zanzibar, a bomb has exploded near the Anglican cathedral.

No one was injured in the explosion, the Reuters news agency reported.

The island, whose population is 99% Muslim, is part of the East African nation of Tanzania. Overall, the nation of 48.3 million is 35% Muslim and 30% Catholic, with the remainder of the population Protestant or retaining indigenous beliefs.
