Vatican plans ‘due diligence’ at two hospitals

January 31, 2014

The Vatican has announced plans to undertake a ‘due diligence’ review of management at two hospitals, in a bid to streamline administration and ensure efficiency.

The review, recommended by the new papal commission studying the economic and administrative affairs of the Vatican, will focus on the Bambino Gesu Children’s Hospital and the Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza Foundation. Each institution’s affairs will be studied by an international accounting firm.
