Christians excluded from Syrian rebels' 'interim government'
Catholic World News - November 13, 2013
Syrian Christians have been systematically excluded from representation in an umbrella group representing rebel leaders, the Fides news service reports.
The Syrian National Coalition, which has agreed to join in peace talks sponsored by the United States and Russia, has a policy of “deliberate marginalization and exclusion” of Christians, leaders of Syriac and Assyrian Christian groups told Fides. The Syrian National Coalition, which is seeking recognition by other nations, has set up an “interim government” of nine ministers, with no Christians included.
