Potential Muslim-Christian genocide feared in Central African Republic

November 08, 2013

The United Nations’ special adviser on the prevention of genocide said recently that he feared the violence in the Central African Republic could spiral into genocide.

“We are seeing armed groups killing people under the guise of their religion,” said Adama Dieng. “My feeling is that this will end with Christian communities, Muslim communities killing each other which means that if we don't act now and decisively I will not exclude the possibility of a genocide occurring.”

The nation’s prelates have deplored repeated instances of anti-Christian violence since members of Séléka, an Islamist rebel movement, seized power in March.

Read carefully this article and the accompanying newspaper URLs and you will find that, far from being a story of potential genocide by either of 2 sides as the headline suggests, it is in fact one of criminal assault by Muslim forces and, in response, the acquisition of arms by Christians to defend themselves. Once again the Muslims are the "bad guys" and the Christians are their intended innocent victims. Indeed, can anyone think of any country where Christians are attacking Muslims? I can't.
