Satanists suspected in tabernacle desecration in India

Catholic World News - October 07, 2013

A tabernacle at a Catholic church in Aluvi, a city of 25,000 in the southwestern Indian state of Kerala, has been desecrated, according to multiple media reports.

Satanists are suspected in the September 29 incident, which included the theft of the hosts.

“We strongly suspect the involvement of an evil group,” said an official of the Kerala Catholic Bishops’ Conference, The New Indian Express reported. “It may be noted that the offering box in the church remains untouched. The common laity has no use of [the consecrated host], the communion bread. Only those who practice black mass need it. There were reports that certain groups were active in giving hosts for cash.”
