Pope renews plea: pray for peace in Syria
CWN - September 30, 2013
Pope Francis renewed his plea to the faithful to pray for peace in Syria, during his midday audience on Sunday, September 30.
After celebrating Mass in St. Peter’s Square for the Day of Catechists (see today’s separate CWN headline story), the Pope welcomed the Greek Orthodox Patriarch Youhanna X of Antioch. He remarked to the Syrian prelate: “Your presence invites us once again to pray for peace in Syria and in the Middle East.”
