Philadelphia archdiocese sets up independent fundraising foundation

Catholic World News - September 24, 2013

The Philadelphia archdiocese is setting up an independent charitable foundation to encourage donations from the laity.

The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia will have a lay chairman and executive director, with Archbishop Charles Chaput as a member of the board of directors. The foundation follows the pattern established last year when the archdiocese set up the Faith in the Future Foundation to provide funding for Catholic schools.
