Vatican newspaper pays tribute to Obama’s inaugural address
January 28, 2009
Today’s edition of L’Osservatore Romano offers a strongly positive assessment of President Barack Obama’s inaugural address. Father Robert Imbelli, a priest of the Archdiocese of New York and associate professor of theology at Boston College, pays tribute to the President’s biblical language, evocation of traditional principles, and reference to the grace of God. In a L’Osservatore Romano book review published last year, Father Imbelli had praised Archbishop Charles Chaput’s Render Unto Caesar.
