Vatican Radio highlights Sacra Liturgia conference

May 01, 2013

Vatican Radio has interviewed Bishop Dominique Rey of Fréjus-Toulon (France) about Sacra Liturgia 2013, a conference devoted to liturgy and the new evangelization. Bishop Rey is the organizer of the conference, which will take place in June at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome. Among the speakers are Cardinals Antonio Cañizares Llovera, Walter Brandmüller, Malcolm Ranjith, and Raymond Burke; Archbishop Alexander Sample; and bishops, priests, and laity, including Jeffrey Tucker of the Church Music Association of America.

Holy Mass will be celebrated in both the ordinary form and the extraordinary form during the conference.

“I had the joy of participating in the Synod for the New Evangelization,” said Bishop Rey. “I have seen . . . the essential place of the liturgy for the New Evangelization, because in the liturgy we receive the grace of God, and in the liturgy there is the association between the Sacrament, and the transmission of faith, the content of faith, and the meeting of all the community during this sacred moment.”
