Canadian bishops encourage awareness of environmental issues

April 10, 2013

The Canadian bishops’ conference has released a statement calling upon the faithful to develop an awareness of environmental problems.

Bishop Donald Bolen of Saskatoon, a member of the committee that drafted the statement, described it as an effort to “see the interconnectedness between different moral questions” while encouraging reverence for creation. "We are encouraging our communities and our faithful to engage in dialogue with governmental policies and giving them the principles from which they should do that," the bishop said.
