Complaints against Cardinal O'Brien followed his statements against same-sex marriage
March 22, 2013
Cardinal Keith O’Brien, who resigned in February and later admitted to sexual misconduct, conducted a long-term affair with another priest, the Scottish Herald has reported.
The cleric who was involved with the Scottish cardinal left the priesthood several years ago, but subsequently returned to the faith and lodged a complaint against the cardinal.
In recent months several more complaints were raised, by men who alleged relationships with the cardinal dating back to the 1980s. Some of the complaints came from active homosexuals who were angered by Cardinal O’Brien’s strong public statements against same-sex marriage, the Herald reported.
