Bogus 'bishop' tries to gain access to cardinals' meeting
CWN - March 04, 2013
An Italian man masquerading as a Catholic bishop tried to gain access to the Vatican’s Synod Hall, where the congregation of cardinals was meeting, on March 4. He was escorted out by the Swiss Guard.
The man, who was wearing a bishop’s vestments, spoke briefly with some cardinals and with onlookers before he was confronted and asked to leave. When challenged he claimed to be a cleric of the “Italian Orthodox Church.”
