2 Colombian priests killed in separate incidents
CWN - February 04, 2013
For the 2nd time in barely over 2 weeks, a Catholic priest in Colombia has been killed by gunfire.
Father Luis Alfredo Suarez Salazar was gunned down on February 2 on a street in Ocana, his native town, by two men on a motorcycle. Police believe that the shooters intended to kill not the priest but a man standing beside him.
On January 16, Father José Francisco Velez Echeverri was killed in Buga. Police there say that the priest surprised a robber, who killed him to escape capture.
