Cyclist Armstrong's confession shows 'rotten' world of professional sports, says Vatican official

The confession of drug use by cycling legend Lance Armstrong illustrates the unhealthy pressures at work in high-stakes professional athletic competition, according to an official of the Vatican’s office for culture and sports.
"It's a world that is rotten, all of cycling, even soccer," said Msgr. Melchor Sanchez de Toca Alameda.
