Massachusetts priest gains rare appointment at Vatican basilica

Msgr. Francis Kelly, a priest of the Worcester (Massachusetts) diocese, has been appointed to the College of Canons of St. Peter's basilica. He will be the first American priest to serve as a canon of the Vatican basilica in almost 50 years.
The Worcester diocesan paper provides a biographical sketch of Msgr. Kelly, and some interesting background on the College of Canons.
