Canterbury cathedral canons elect new Anglican leader
CWN - January 11, 2013
The College of Canons of Canterbury Cathedral has unanimously voted to elect Bishop Justin Welby the next Archbishop of Canterbury.
The vote by the 35 cathedral canons will be presented to Queen Elizabeth II for final approval, with which Dr. Welby will formally become the worldwide leader of the Anglican communion.
