Notre Dame passes up a golden opportunity

Each of the colleges participating in the January 7 national championship football game will have an opportunity to air a nationwide televised ad. George Weigel argues that Notre Dame has missed a golden chance by choosing a generic ad, rather than a strong statement about the importance of religious freedom and the pro-life cause.

    Obviously, Notre Dame does not want to appear to be too Catholic. That would be so-o embarrassing and not at all cool.
