CWN - November 21, 2012
Catholic and Muslim scholars have issued a joint statement on cooperative work for justice, at the conclusion of a 3-day meeting in Rome.
The Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue and the Centre for Inter-religious Dialogue of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organisation (ICRO) co-sponsored the talks, which examined the understanding of justice in the Christian and Islamic perspectives. The joint statement affirmed:
Both sides expressed their awareness of and concern for current challenges, including the economic crisis, the environmental issue, the weakening of the family as a basic institution of society and threats to world peace.
