Holy Land prelate rues extension of Israel’s security wall
CWN - October 31, 2012
A Latin-rite prelate in the Holy Land is warning that Israeli plans to extend its security wall will provide severe economic harm to 58 families in a predominantly Christian village.
“If Israel constructs the wall according to the 1949 borders, there will be no problem,” said Auxiliary Bishop William Shomali of Jerusalem. “It is [Israel’s] right. No one would object. “
“The problem is that the route for the … wall would be on Palestinian land,” he added.
