Papal condolence after Beirut bombing

Pope Benedict XVI sent a message to condolence to the people of Lebanon following a bombing in Beirut that killed 8 people and left many wounded.
In a message to Patriarch Bechara Rai of the Maronite Catholic Church, the Pontiff expressed “profound closeness to the injured and their families,” promised prayers for the dead, and “condemns the violence which causes so much suffering.”
