No progress on solving murder of Italian missionary in Philippines

CWN - October 15, 2012

Police in the Philippines have made no progress toward solving the murder of Father Fausto Tentorio, an Italian PIME missionary who was killed in the Mindanao province nearly a full year ago.

A spokesman for the PIME missionaries charges that “it is the Department of National Defense that has blocked the investigation.” Church officials are calling upon the government to press the investigation, saying that local officials are protecting suspects who may be candidates in upcoming elections.
