Another Pakistani teen faces blasphemy charges, death threats
CWN - October 12, 2012
Another Pakistani teenager faces death threats after being accused of blasphemy—in this case, by allegedly forwarding a text message.
Ryan Brian Patus, who is 15, was forced to flee along with his family when their home was torched by Islamic zealots. The boy says that he forwarded a text message without having read it carefully; his accusers say that it was offensive to Islam.
In a related story, the Muslim cleric who is accused of framing Rimsha Masih, the young girl accused of blasphemy, has been released on bail, while the Christian girl remains in custody. Imam Khalid Jadoon Chisti is accused of burning pages of the Qu’ran and planting them on the girl.
