Atlanta archdiocese breaks ties with Komen Foundation

The Atlanta archdiocese has instructed its parishes and schools not to join in fundraising activities for the Komen for the Cure Foundation.
A memo circulated among the institutions of the archdiocese acknowledges the contributions of the Komen Foundation toward a cure for breast cancer, but cites the organization’s continuing ties to Planned Parenthood as reason to avoid connections that could become “an occasion for scandal.”
