EU protester climbs onto dome of St. Peter’s basilica
CWN - October 03, 2012
An Italian man climbed out onto the roof of St. Peter’s basilica and unfurled a banner protesting the European Union, forcing Vatican officials to seek help from Italian authorities to bring him down.
Marcelio Di Finizio left a tour group at the Vatican basilica and jumped over a retaining fence to climb out on the dome. He was arrested in July after a similar protest.
