Chavez blasts Venezuelan cardinal

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has criticized Cardinal Jorge Liberato Urosa Savino of Caracas because of his opposition to a proposed constitutional amendment that would grant Chavez an unlimited number of terms in office. “If Christ should appear here in flesh and blood he would lash Urosa, he would throw him out of the Church because he is immoral and cares nothing about ethics or his priesthood,” Chavez said last Friday.
