Asian bishops call for end to arms trade

CWN - July 13, 2012

The Federation of the Asian Bishops’ Conferences (FABC) is calling for “the immediate stop to the trafficking of arms.” The bishops praised the Arms Trade Treaty, a prospective multilateral treaty that the bishops believe “will provide an important contribution to promoting a true culture of peace through responsible collaboration between the states.”

The FABC made its appeal in view of the upcoming fiftieth anniversary of the encyclical letter Pacem in Terris, in which Blessed John XXIII called for steps toward disarmament.

In the light of the Federal administration's current attack on individual religious freedom in the United States, whose threat you see clearly, perhaps you should look a little more critically on the supra-national UN's proposed action which, as currently drafted, would, if accepted by the US, supersede and override the US's Constitution's Second Amendment. If we lose the First Amendment, then the Second, what's next?
