Vatican, Montenegro enter into new diplomatic accord

Catholic World News - June 21, 2012

Pope Benedict XVI met on June 21 with President Filip Vujanovic of Montenegro, who was in Rome for the formal exchange of documents confirming a diplomatic accord between his country and the Holy See.

The joint agreement—which was signed in 2011, but now comes into force—governs the juridical status of the Church in Montenegro and affirms the freedom of worship and the role of Catholic institutions in public life.
