President mocks Defense of Marriage Act

Speaking at a Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) Pride Month Reception at the White House, President Barack mocked the Defense of Marriage Act by characterizing it as the “so-called Defense of Marriage Act.”
“We have gathered to pay tribute to the generations of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans who devoted their lives to our most basic of ideals –- equality not just for some, but for all,” said President Obama. “We’ve supported efforts in Congress to end the so-called Defense of Marriage Act. And as we wait for that law to be cast aside, we’ve stopped defending its constitutionality in the courts.”
“And as long as I have the privilege of being your President, I promise you, you won't just have a friend in the White House, you will have a fellow advocate for an America where no matter what you look like or where you come from or who you love, you can dream big dreams and dream as openly as you want.”

Quite alarming to us non-American's who have so admired the USA. In general we have looked up to them as the strongest, bravest and most advanced nation in the world. Along with a respect for the citizens we have met & their government that has (to us until recently) stood for decency and honor. The President's "paying tribute" to & encouragement to "dream as openly as you want" to persons of such alien values is a scandalous mistake... the after-effects will be felt many continents away.

Once again, obama shows his arrogance and determination to further his leftist agenda of big government: this time he refuses to carry out his constitututional executive function to enforce the law of the land, which is DOMA. He refuses even to defend it in court. Pay attention people: EPA circumvents "cap and trade"; INS circumvents immigration law; Justice ignores DOMA. Are you seeing the pattern here? Where is the USCCB on this one?
