Replacement named for Australian bishop removed by Vatican
CWN - May 15, 2012
In May 2011, Bishop William Morris was removed from the leadership of the Diocese of Toowoomba after repeated Vatican requests for his resignation. The Australian prelate had encouraged widespread general absolution and called for a discussion of the ordination of women.
A year later, the Holy See has announced that his replacement is Msgr. Robert McGuckin, former president of the Canon Law Society of Australia and New Zealand and current vicar general of the Diocese of Parramatta.
