Australian premier remains opposed to same-sex marriage

Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard has indicated that she will not support a bid for legal recognition of same-sex marriage.
Responding to questions raised by reporters after US President Barack Obama said that he would support same-sex marriage, Gillard indicated that she plans to vote against a bill pending in the Australian parliament. “I believe what I believe,” the Australian leader said.
