CWN - May 03, 2012
A total of 134,562 people were baptized into the Catholic Church in South Korea in 2011—including over 100,000 adults--bringing the country’s Catholic population up to 5.3 million.
Bishop Lazarus You Heung-sik of Daejeon, the president of the country’s episcopal conference, says that lay Catholics are instrumental in bringing others to the faith. "The South Korean Church depends a lot on them for every believer must proclaim the Gospel,” he told AsiaNews.
