Australian bishops rally forces against same-sex marriage
CWN - March 30, 2012
In a letter that will be sent to 80,000 Catholics, a group of six Australian bishops led by Melbourne’s Archbishop Denis Hart are asking the faithful to contact their political representatives and urge them to protect traditional marriage.
The letter warns that proposals for legal recognition of same-sex marriage would imperil the status of “the loving union in difference of male and female.” The bishops ask their people to oppose legislative efforts to accept same-sex unions.
