Spanish lawmakers reject bid to revise pact with Vatican

Spanish parliamentarians have rejected an effort by leftist lawmakers to revise the government’s accord with the Holy See.
Liberal groups had sought to change the agreement that provides for religious instruction and military chaplains, saying that it was not in accord with the country’s secular form of government. But their proposal was soundly defeated.
