Irish public opposes decision to close Vatican embassy
CWN - January 16, 2012
The Irish public overwhelmingly opposes the government’s move to close down its embassy at the Holy See, the Irish Examiner reports.
In the days after foreign minister Eamon Gilmore announced the government’s decision, 93% of the messages his office received on the subject were critical, the Examiner discloses. The newspaper filed a Freedom of Information Act request to obtain all records of public messages to the foreign minister’s office.
