Vatican city-state tribunal opens judicial year

CWN - January 16, 2012

The judicial tribunal of the Vatican city-state opened its 83rd term on January 14, with a Mass celebrated by Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, the Vatican Secretary of State.

Nicola Picadi, the promoter of justice for the Vatican tribunal, delivered his report at the opening session, reporting on recent changes in the legal code of the Vatican’s city government. His report centered on the changes that have been made to bring the Vatican into line with new European standards for banking and financial transactions.
