Iraqi prelate blesses monument to 'Christian martyrs' since US invasion
CWN - December 19, 2011
Archbishop Louis Sako of Kirkuk, Iraq, presided at the dedication of a memorial to the 36 Christians who have been murdered in that city since the US offensive against Iraq in 2003.
Archbishop Sako said that the dedication of the memorial, together with the withdrawal of American troops, should signal a time of reconciliation. "We are living in preparation for Christmas,” he remarked; "we Christians are called to become a bridge."
