Vietnamese Catholics beaten, arrested in latest confrontation with police
CWN - December 02, 2011
Hundreds of Catholic activists were attacked by police on December 2, in the latest of a series of clashes over a Redemptorist parish in Hanoi.
The Catholics had sought to present a petition to local authorities, protesting the seizure of land at the Redemptorist community. But the group was surrounded by police, who beat many and arrested dozens.
