Philippines: groups prod government on inquiry into priest's killing
Catholic World News - November 25, 2011
More than 50 civic and religious organizations in the province of Mindanao have appealed to President Benigno Aquino of the Philippines to accelerate a probe into the murder of a Catholic missionary priest.
Father Fausto Tentorio was killed in Arakan on October 17. Local groups question the police efforts to solve the crime, and note that human-rights violations in Mindanao have increased in the weeks since the priest’s death.
