Pro-lifers decry Girl Scouts ties with feminist groups
CWN - November 17, 2011
The National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM) was an enthusiastic participant in a recent Girls Scouts convention in Houston, brushing aside protests by pro-life groups about the involvement of many prominent advocates of abortion and homosexuality.
NFCYM dismissed the pro-life criticism of Girl Scout connections with feminist groups, characterizing it as “misinformation.” Mary Hasson, a visiting fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington, DC, argues that the information is both accurate and ample, and insists that NFCYM should help to warn Catholic families about the Girl Scout affiliations.
