Canada: 3 parishes for sale for 95 cents

October 05, 2011

A diocese in Ontario is offering to sell three closed parishes--all of them designated heritage sites--for one Canadian dollar (US $0.95).

The number of parishes in the Diocese of London, in which the three Windsor parishes are located, has fallen from 171 in 1975 to 120 today. The Sunday Mass attendance rate in the diocese is 14%.
