Catholic lawmakers huddle at Castel Gandolfo to discuss priorities

Catholic lawmakers—including 20 members of the European Parliament—met at Castel Gandolfo last week to discuss the moral responsibilities of legislators.

The meeting of the International Catholic Legislators Network was off the record, and no public statements were issued. But the political leaders reportedly spoke about the need to combat persecution of Christians and discrimination against Catholics, to protect the family, and to respond to increasingly strong attacks against Church teachings on issues such as homosexual adoption.
