New Ambrosian Rite lectionary, calendar comes into use
Catholic World News - November 17, 2008
With the celebration of Vigil Mass of the First Sunday of Advent in the Duomo on Saturday evening, Cardinal Dionigi Tettamanzi implemented a new lectionary and liturgical calendar for the Church of Milan at the beginning of its liturgical year. Following his Sunday Angelus address, Pope Benedict noted the event and said, ‘May the Ambrosian Church, nourished by the wisdom and the abundance of holy Scripture, always walk in truth and charity, and give valid witness to Christ, the Word of salvation for humanity of all times.’
