The New York Times has rehashed the story that was widely reported in May, about the criticism of Kansas City’s Bishop Robert Finn that arose after the arrest of a local priest, Father Shawn Ratigan, on child-pornography charges.
The Times refers to the case as “painfully fresh.” But the report contains no new information, aside from the fact that another lawsuit was filed last week. Bishop Finn has asked a former federal prosecutor to make a thorough investigation of the diocese’s handling of the case. That report is due out sometime in the next several weeks.
