CWN - August 04, 2011
Vatican Insider profiles Cardinal Antonio Maria Rouco Varela, who occupies a unique place in the history of World Youth Day (WYD) celebrations.
In 1989, the future cardinal was the Bishop of Compostela, Spain, when Pope John Paul II led WYD celebrations there. Now, as Archbishop of Madrid, he is preparing to greet another Pontiff, and play host to WYD for the 2nd time.
