Cardinal Bertone recalls Blessed John Paul II in Les Combes
CWN - July 26, 2011
Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone has blessed a foyer and path in memory of Blessed John Paul II in Les Combes, which is located in the Aosta Valley of northwestern Italy.
“Let us thank the Lord for having given a special mission recognized throughout the world to this locality of Les Combes and to this splendid valley,” Cardinal Bertone said during the July 24 blessing. “They have served as a setting for rest, for reflection and for personal prayer and for the public prayer of the Sunday Angelus by two Popes: John Paul II who stayed here ten times from 1989 to 2004, and Benedict XVI three times in 2005, 2006 and 2009.”
