Apostolic nuncio to US on ventilator

July 26, 2011

The apostolic nunciature to the United States is asking clergy, religious, and laity to pray for the health of Archbishop Pietro Sambi, who has served as apostolic nuncio to the United States since 2005.

Two weeks after “delicate lung surgery,” according to the nunciature, the prelate has suffered complications, and his breathing is now assisted by a ventilator.
