Cardinal Zen repeats: some Chinese bishops more loyal to Beijing

Cardinal Joseph Zen has renewed his criticism of Vatican efforts to reach a diplomatic accommodation with Beijing--this time in conversation with the Wall Street Journal.

Repeating arguments that he has voiced with rising urgency in recent months, Cardinal Zen says that some Chinese bishops are more loyal to the government than to the Church, and urges a hard line against cooperation with the government-backed Catholic Patriotic Association.

    Cardinal Zen must feel very lonely as he rings the alarm bell. I suspect he won't allow himself to be muzzled,though.
