Website Review: The Catholic Review Online Site on which this review was based: http://www.catholicreview.org
The Catholic Review is the weekly newspaper of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, Maryland. It focuses on "providing a Catholic perspective and insight into issues and events occurring at the local, national and international level which have an impact on life in the Catholic community." The site offers a wide coverage of news and makes an attempt to report in an unbiased manner, is well designed and upbeat.
In some cases the reporting could have a more Catholic bias than it does. For example, by reporting on President Obama’s inauguration day without putting it into content by mentioning his position on freedom of religion or the life of the unborn, by talking about how many Catholics are in Congress without pointing out that many of them, such as Nancy Pelosi, are not Catholics in good standing is a deficiency. In fairness it must be mentioned that there are a sections on the site concerning religious liberty and life issues that are handled properly.
